Building Blocks Children’s Ministry Conference

This event is organised by a group of Christians committed to children’s ministry from various denominations. The conferences in Dublin and Belfast have been running now for a number of years and are the leading training events for Children’s Ministry Workers in Ireland.

Each year, we have over seven hundred delegates come to the two conferences in Belfast and Dublin to learn from, explore with and be inspired by expert seminar leaders. This year will be no different as there are a number of seminars covering different topics and also a chance to purchase resources.

The keynote speaker this year is Kathryn Copsey who heads up an organisation called CURBs – Children in URBan Situations. She is a gifted communicator who has a heart for mission amongst children, regardless of their background and is well worth hearing, whether you minister in urban situations or not.

Next Committee Meeting

The next meeting of the District Youth and Children’s committee is to be held on Tuesday 8th September at 7.45pm.

Follow the Star – co-ordinating group members needed.

As we mentioned earlier, we are planning to hold ‘Follow the Star‘ this December. But to enable the planning for it, we need a few people to make up the co-ordinating group for it. This group will assess all that needs to be done and delegate to others for various tasks and roles. For now though we need some people to be on this co-ordinating group, so please let Steven know if you’re interested… foster(at)ypce(dot)freeserve.co.uk

Hi folks – thanks for coming along to the Resource Day or sorry you couldn’t make it.

A big thank you to David and Janette coming down to lead us, and thank you to the folks at Florencecourt for having us.

We’re looking forward to this Resource Day. We trust that it will be of benefit to you, as we share together and learn from one another. Here’s a plan of how the day looks…

10.00am          Registration

11.20am          Coffee & Browse

11.30am          (with coffee) Telling about resources available.

The day will be led by Rev David Rock, Secretary of the Department of Youth and Children’s Work, who will lead the sessions on youth ministry, and Mrs Jeanette McCormack, Children’s Ministry Co-ordinator with DYCW who will lead the sessions on Children’s work.

‘Real Life‘ bookshop in Enniskillen will also be providing a stand at which most of the materials highlighted during the day will be available for purchase, or can be ordered.

You are asked to bring along a packed lunch. Tea and coffee will be available.

Enniskillen 360 Summer Project

Scripture Union, Northern Ireland are running a summer project specifically aimed at teens throughout the Enniskillen and wider area which will take place from Sunday 5th Saturday 11th July. The vision is to reach out to young people in a creative and relational way, and our team of 20 volunteers is made up of some local faces along with Rick Hill, the SUNI Secondary Schools Project Worker.

Rick has asked for help with:

1. Prayer:

We will be hosting a prayer gathering on Sunday night 5th July to launch the week, probably at the Stables at 8pm, to pray for the project together.

2. Publicity:

At this point, we’re trying to spread the word about Enniskillen 360 as best as possible around the local area. All our promotional materials are beginning to be circulated, but if they haven’t reached your hands then please let Rick know and he can post some out to you.

3. Church visits:

Also, at this point, we’re wanting to offer 3-4 of the team members to each church in the town on the morning of Sunday 5th July, the day before all the teenage venues begin. The aim would be to allow the team members to be seen by folks from the churches, as well as take a wee bit of time to share about the heart/vision of the 360 project etc. We’ve been requested to preach/sing/share/pray etc in other churches, but it would be great to be able to offer this to a wider area.
